Guys!!! It’s been so long since I last blogged, and I just couldn’t leave up snowy scenes as we’re making our way into the glorious summer sunshine. Honestly my blogging passions have waned, I’ve been so enamoured with Instagram over these past months but I really wanted to share these photos KASA shot one day, by the river. It’s our favorite spot to stroll with Tayeh in tow, rain or shine! The whole area is especially green now we’ve hit May; birdsongs trail off into the distance and brilliant sunbeams catch ripples on the water, making them twinkly delights. I am literally a Happy Camperwhen I’m here so I thought I’d share a special gift Sean scored for me from one of his biz trips back to Calgary. If you haven’t heard of Camp Brand Goods yet then get on it people — I love this brand so much!! The quality of their merch is spot on plus mounds full of online roamin’ through their various design notions gives a girl (or guy) plenty of prized pieces that honor our habitat and our swagger.
HUGE thank yous to everyone who left me such sweet notes and checked in through email, I really appreciate it friends!!! Happy new week & I hope you’re experiencing the loveliest days with the most beautiful blue aboves ever! ♥
I’m sure some people start their design projects differently but I always tend to begin with color. Choosing a palette is the key for me to unlock the door to creativity and become a spatial activist. You heard it here folks, I love me some spatial activism and boy did I ever let this place turn into a run-down blog shack. No design updates in a really looooong time, but that’s ALL CHANGED NOW!
I took a BIG cue from ModCloth’s recent stylebook graphics; whoever is creating that stuff should take many victory laps – it’s amazing!
Ta-da and welcome to the new and improved Hearted Girl. It’s lighter, brighter and reps me way more than the last scene did. Hope you like the changes I’ve made, which includes the About page – it was a serious atrocity and has been polished up some.
Bio Gel nails…you are my new BEST FRIEND! I’ve always delighted in some biped pampering but manicures are the shizdazzle in my books. Not having the steadiest of hands results in the ones I give myself ending up in disaster so when I can, I’ll head over to Bling Lounge for some nailicious love and attention.
I was introduced to Bio Gel after I started school and had so little time for anything else in my life (especially a polish change) so they hooked me up and now I’m in it for the long haul. This “stuff” is astonishing, it never chips, flakes or peels – EVER people! You could use the most powerful household cleaners all day long, sans gloves, it doesn’t budge – dump on nail polish remover – it doesn’t even flinch! Like trying to take pee out of a swimming pool, it just can’t be done. Basically it lasts until your nails have grown out enough that the space between polish and cuti appears too much.
In my case these chiclet nails of mine grow slowly so I go about every 6 weeks for a touch up. One other splendid benefit is that because it’s strong your nails don’t break and now they’re a bit longer it’s helping my pudgy fingers appear leaner. I highly recommend you give it a try, opting to keep mine in the nude sector so the contrast is less, hope this has given you a “hand”. ♥
wizard dimensional lacquers on the fall fashion runways have loads of swag: pepto pink, classic red, metropolitan griege, mattefied limestone or shiny topcoat sparkly dips.
Better than Baskin-Robbins!
The awesome Daily Nail does a 365 series that’s ridiculously cute! I couldn’t stop looking through her archives:
My mom has always been a source of inspiration for me when it comes to hand written letters. The lady can throw it down, wielding her mighty pen like an olympic caliber figure skater across a page. She has instilled a love for stationery in me since a very young age and I still have a box of treasured keepsakes to look back on every once in a while. Letterpress and custom design studios are a bounty on the internet, I’ve spent hours scrolling through beautiful collections. Sometimes swooning so much that I end up doing a little online shopping too! One of my favorites is Le Papier Studio created by Vana who’s one of a kind silhouettes had me in a bliss-teria. (what you say?! again with the silhouettes…but of course, i respond. oh and pea ess: trust me, you want a piece of this!)
I ordered a pretty set of custom cards (see above) for my friend Jane, so as to pass on the goodness and at that time Vana was offering a gift with purchase too. I chose an adorable print from her collection that sits in a special nook at home. ♥
i think these ones are outta site too:
now if this isn’t so darned cute, i don’t know what is!
